Trustmark-managed sites are private, high-sensitivity environments.
Access to these sites is not automatic.
All face-to-face fundraising activity at Trustmark-managed locations must be authorised in advance through Trustmark.
This booking request process exists to ensure that important fundraising activity can occur in a way that protects:
public comfort and autonomy
host-site risk and reputation
the long-term viability of face-to-face fundraising in New Zealand
Trustmark allocates bookings on a first-come first-served basis – within policy constraints set out in its service agreements with participating host sites.
Each site has its own stated preferences, limits and operating constraints.
Trustmark also applies discretionary limits where necessary to protect the interests outlined above. For example, Trustmark applies a standard density limit for paid fundraising events across all managed sites (with limited exceptions) of 3 days per week and 7 days per month.
Accordingly, each booking request is assessed in context.
⸻
This form allows charities, fundraising agencies or other interested parties to request authorisation to utilise front-door solicitation space at a Trustmark-managed site for specific dates and times.
Submitting a booking request does not guarantee approval.
Trustmark may:
approve a request
approve a request with conditions
request further information
decline a request
Decisions are made in the interests of host sites and public experience.
⸻
When reviewing a booking request, Trustmark may consider factors including (but not limited to):
requested event type
current agency risk level (where relevant)
recent observation data and complaint patterns
charity and/or campaign type
incentive structures
site-specific tolerance and constraints
cumulative fundraising load at that location
Trustmark reserves the right to limit, stagger, condition, or decline bookings where risk cannot be responsibly managed.
⸻
By submitting a booking request, applicants acknowledge that:
all deployed fundraisers are expected to meet Trustmark’s Conduct Metrics
active fundraising activity may be independently observed
access is contingent on sustained acceptable public experience outcomes
host site staff reserve the right to remove anyone they deem to be unsafe
Trustmark may adjust access conditions or agency risk levels over time
Trustmark’s authority derives from contractual agreements with host sites under private property law
Unauthorised fundraising activities at a Trustmark-managed site may result in immediate removal and future access restrictions.
⸻
Applicants should ensure that:
fundraising agency leadership has read and understood the Trustmark Agency Guide (download below)
they are prepared to respond constructively to conduct feedback
applicable fundraisers can operate according to Trustmark’s Conduct Metrics
applicable fundraisers understand that observer interference is strictly prohibited and can result in immediate agency suspension
If you are applying on behalf of a professional fundraising agency that is not willing or able to meet these conditions, Trustmark-managed sites may not be an appropriate operating environment.
If you wish to request authorisation to operate at a Trustmark-managed site, complete the booking request form below.
All requests are reviewed by Trustmark.
